All arrangements have been finalised to begin Phase 1 of the development work aimed at improving the facilities at the Sri Lanka Forestry Institute (SLFI) in Nuwara Eliya. Finite Lanka (Pvt) Ltd has been awarded the contract to complete this work within a sum of Rupees 230 million through the Ecosystem Conservation and Management Project.
The Pre-bid Meeting for the construction of Phase II was held on 21 September 2019 under the scrutiny of Director of the Forestry Institute Ms S.H. Bandumala, Assistant Director Mr G. Jayapala, and Regional Forestry Officer Mr Kamal Jayakody, as well as pre-bid officials at the Forestry Institute. The Deadline for accepting pre-bids for Phase one is r December 2019.
The Ecosystem Conservation and Management Project was represented by Project Manager Mr Danushka Wickremaratne, Project Engineer Mr Kalyaratne Sahabandu, Environmental & Social Safeguards Specialist Dunstan Fernando, Environmental Officer Dr Sadun Bandara, Procurement Officer Suranga and Technical Officer Mr M.A. Jayasooriya and others.
