The 27th session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC) hosted by the Forest Department of Sri Lanka was held in Colombo at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) from 23-02-2017 to 27-10-2017.
APFC is one of six regional forestry commissions established by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to provide a policy and technical forum for countries to discuss and address forest issues on a regional basis.
Two key project interventions related to this year’s Commission theme – Pilot Level Landscape Planning and Management by Mr. H.G. Gunawardane, (Coordinator – Landscape Management and Planning, ESCAMP); and Human-Elephant Co-Existence for Livelihood Protection by Dr. Sumith Pilapitiya, (World Bank Consultant on Wildlife aspects of the ESCAMP) were presented under the Partner Events at APFC on 27th October 2017 from 1330-1500 at the Tulip Room in BMICH.
