Seventy eightESCAMP-supported project activities are scheduled to be implementedby the Forest Department.Over 62 of these activities are now completed, while 16 are currently being implemented. This amounts to 80% average physical progress as at mid this year. Livelihood-enhancement activities include, increasing the productivity of home gardens, promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting agro-forestry, developing nature-based tourism and improving small-scale community led infra-structure activitiesin villages located adjacent to selected Protected Areas in Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Matale, Ratnapura, Kandy, Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts.
