ESCAMP and the World Bank together conducted a training program on “Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT)” on 20th February, 2018, at the Saptha Parisara Mandapaya, Sampathpaya in Battharamulla. The workshop was led by Ms. Darshani de Silva, the Task Team Leader of the World Bank. The full day workshop was attended by about 45 personnel including Park Wardens, District Forest Officers, Regional Forest Officers and key officials from the Forest Department, and the Department of Wildlife Conservation.
METT is a Widely used and globally applicable generic system developed to assess Protected Area Management Effectiveness. It is used to enable park managers and donors to identify needs, constraints and priority actions to improve the effectiveness of protected area management.
