The PMU conducted a safeguard awareness workshop for capacity building of field-based protected area managers of the Department of Wildlife Conservation on the 14th of June at the Department of Wildlife Conservation conference hall.
Around 65 personnel attended the workshop including park wardens and wildlife rangers from Horton Plains, Galway’s Land, Somawathi, Horagolla, Minneriya, Wasgamuwa, Kalpitiya, Kumana, Kaudulla, Pigeon island, Wilpaththu, Maduru Oya, Anawilundawa, Angamadilla, Horowpothana, Chundikulam and Kala Oya National parks.
The training was conducted by the Projector Director, and the Environmental and Social Safeguard Specialist of the Ecosystem Conservation and Management Project.
