An interactive workshop was held in December 2019 at Grand Monarch Hotel, Thalawathugoda, Battaramulla with the patronage of the Ecosystem Conservation and Management Project (ESCAMP). The key participants were representatives of stakeholder institutions, environment organizations and local NGOs.
The main objective of this workshop was to obtain views, comments and suggestions on the draft Land Management Plan (LMP) developed for Hurulu-Kaudulla and Kantale (HKK) landscape. This management plan was developed by an local expert team led by an international with vast experiences in LMP in the region. This area covers 520,000 ha in Anuradapura, Pollonnaruwa and Trincomalee District.
